International E-Waste Day

E-waste is one of the fastest-growing waste categories in the world. According to the latest data, 62 million tons of e-waste were generated globally in 2022. This figure is expected to increase by 32%, reaching 82 million tons by 2050. However, only 22.3% of e-waste is properly recycled, leading to the loss of valuable resources and significant environmental harm.

Improper handling of e-waste can cause environmental pollution due to toxic substances such as lead, mercury, and cadmium. Therefore, it is crucial not only to recycle old electronics but also to raise public awareness of this pressing issue.

International E-Waste Day reminds us all of the importance of responsible electronic consumption and disposal. It is an excellent opportunity to spread awareness about proper e-waste recycling and contribute to a cleaner planet.

Join us for the webinar "Hunting for E-Waste in Central Asia" on October 18 at 14:30 (GMT+5).
